L. Naanee has been accused of participating in a brawl early Monday morning (US Presswire). Posted by Josh Katzowitz

After he was inactive for Sunday’s game vs. the Chiefs with a hamstring injury, it came to light that Chargers WR Legedu Naanee had been accused of taking part in a bar fight that sent a 21-year-old man to the hospital with serious head trauma.

According to the San Diego Union Tribune , witnesses said Naanee was at the scene of a brawl outside a Pacific Beach nightclub.

“I was not involved in nor did I witness a fight or altercation of any kind Sunday night,” Naanee said in a statement released by the team. “Period.”

The fight apparently happened at 2 a.m. Monday, but Naanee told reporters, via Rapid Reporter Don McLellan, Naanee said he left the club at 1:30.

He also said other teammates were with him before recanting that statement and saying he was with friends.

“I wasn’t keeping attendance,” Naanee said.

Said San Diego police Capt. Chris Ball, via the Union Tribune . “We don’t have enough information at this point to really determine with any degree of certainty what happened. Everyone is giving us completely different descriptions of what occurred and the challenge for us is to wade through that.”

The unidentified injured man is in a medically-induced coma.
